UCL Visit 2011

Students from Professor Adrian Forty's class at University College paid their annual visit to St Jude's this morning.

Cross and candles

The cross above the candle stand at the west end of the church is a copy of the 'San Damiano Cross', a large Romanesque rood cross that St. Francis of Assisi was praying before when he received the commission from the Lord to rebuild the Church. The original hangs in the Basilica of Saint Clare in Assisi.
